March 2, 1919   Born in Burlington, VT

Parents: Walter Alexander Finlayson and June Tryon Finlayson

Boyhood: New Britain, CT   (with Fred Andres as devoted step-father)

Favorite vacation site:  Rogers Lake, CT  where he met Hollywood character actor,  Henry Hull, and saw Constance and Joan Bennett driving be.

Favorite activities: Boys Scouts (Drum and Bugle corps),

    baton twirling, teaching himself (Legend has it) piano and clarinet

1934   The family moved to Katonah, NY where his father bought the Lewis Miller Insurance Agency

 June 1938  He graduated from the old  Katonah High School (site of  present day Fire Station). His musical activities included:

  —-Drum major two years under Victor Salvo

–Founded The Astronauts, a dance band, with students from other local schools

— Won many talent shows with his baton twirling skills

–Attended Ithaca College for four years, majoring in Music:

Roommate,  ARNIE BROIDO, later served as his life long publisher
